Miếng trầu là đầu câu chuyện

Chỉ tục lệ xưa dùng miếng trầu để mở đầu cuộc gặp gỡ, thăm hỏi và tạo không khí thân tình trước khi vào câu chuyện chính. Cũng dùng để nói rộng rằng trước khi bàn việc quan trọng nên có sự tiếp đón, xã giao ban đầu cho thuận tình, thuận ý.
